Importance of Peace in Life

Peace, as we all know, is very important in our lives and it is essential to our overall well-being. However, this is something that has, regrettably, eluded us for years and years in this world. It has been hindered by war, conflicts and disagreements throughout human history, which has left our world and the many people in it in a deplorable emotional and physical state. This should not be the case.

Even in the places where the guns are silent, there is still some form of conflict going on in many homes, which is obviously going to have negative effects on the future society and spark more wars and conflicts in this world.

For example, when there is conflict between siblings in a home; if not checked, they might continue this conflict on a much greater scale, and it might end up in either one of them dying.
Also, conflicts that can prevent peace from being possible are conflicts between different ethnic groups, different religions, different races, and so on, which are quite frequent in today’s society.
If this continues, then any chance of peace will be lost, so we should try as much as possible to raise the future generations that will replace us one day to value peace above all else so that this world will be a better place.

Any kind of violence, even in its lowest form can be a huge hindrance to peace, and that is why we must stamp it out in order to preserve peace and the lives of millions of innocent people. If we do not root it out, then we will be seeing full scale wars a lot more often and more lives will be lost.

In any case, conflict is senseless and accomplishes nothing for us but rather, it creates more problems. In fact, it is a big factor contributing to revenge, which is one of the biggest hindrances to peace

Peace has many benefits if we give it a chance, and it is a far more favourable option than conflicts. Imagine all the positive developments we could make if we were to have lasting peace throughout the ages. It might be hard, but we must all learn to do it.

BOOK REVIEW

The Land of Stories
"The Wishing Spell"

This book is written by Chris Colfer. Chris Colfer is a Golden Globe winning actor and best known for his role as Kurt Hummel on Glee. The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell is his first novel. This book is  The #1 New York Times Bestseller.

Once upon a time, in contemporary Anytown, lived Alex Bailey and her brother, Conner. The two are passably lively variations on familiar types: she’s an energetic egghead sitting at the head of the class; he’s a jokester snoozing in the back row. Their adventure begins a year after their father’s death, and Colfer brings a light touch to describing their grief even while laying it on thick with thematic resonance. (Mr. Bailey died driving home from his bookstore.) Their paternal grandmother, twinkling into view on their 12th birthday, bequeaths to them a family heirloom, an old storybook anthology whose cover turns out to be a dimensional gateway in the tradition of C. S. Lewis’s passage to Narnia.

Stumbling through this bookwormhole, the kids plummet into a world where Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White have each married a son of King Charming; where Goldilocks is a glamorous fugitive mounted on a cream-colored steed named Porridge; and where Red Riding Hood, in a room pulled together by a wolfskin rug, overdresses to impress Jack, of beanstalk fame. Colfer, perhaps grown tired of treating his characters with gentle reverence, imagines the red-caped lass as a camped-up tart, vain — and pining in vain for the giant-killer: “She was showing too much skin, wearing too much makeup, and was dressed too well for the middle of the day.”

This is no place for young children, what with its gibbering goblins and echoing wolf howls. Relying on the kindness of strangers, foremost an amphibious gentleman plainly in need of a smooch, the twins seek out relics, including Sleeping Beauty’s spindle and Cinderella’s slipper, in order to activate a “Wishing Spell” and make their escape. Off they go on a quest that combines a scavenger hunt, a breaking-and-entering spree and a tour of the stars’ homes.
Children will find lots of hope within its pages, along with bravery and kindness and self-acceptance. It's a book about how every seemingly happy ending creates a new set of struggles to contend with, which you have to keep trying your best to overcome -- while also making good moral decisions and finding some kind of peace in spite of hardship. It's also a book about how things often seem to happen for a reason, and how unexpectedly wonderful things can happen as a result of painful struggles.

The book has some interesting meditations on the nature of deep loneliness and longing -- and what people are capable of doing to remedy those heartaches. It's one of the strongest themes that run throughout the story. It appears as a theme in many ways with a variety of outcomes, and manages to be melancholy and uplifting at the same time, which is really lovely. Even with all of that sadness being examined so deeply, the book manages to be really funny and light.

Another thing the book does strongly is preaching the power of understanding and compassion, even towards people who have done terrible things. It doesn't condone those terrible things, and it heavily emphasizes doing the RIGHT thing, but it deftly paints the characters as more complex humans than the classic Good Vs Evil stories do, which makes it all much more interesting and more relevant to real world conflicts.
It isn't a perfect book, of course, and it could have benefited from a little more editing in a few places, but it's very charming and clever and more-than-a-little magical. I found myself giggling out loud at least once every chapter, and I even got a little teary-eyed in a few places. It will speak to children and adults on different levels emotionally while taking them all on a sweet, exciting adventure.

Fun Camp! 2B-KMUTT

One day, my teacher made an announcement that there will be like a science camp in one of the best university in Thailand. The university is King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi. At first, i was a bit confused about should i join  this camp or not because i was afraid to left the school behind. But, my mom said that it will becoming a great experience in your life that I will never forget. So, after a discussion, i decided to join the camp. If i want to joined this camp, i had to make an essay about myself, curriculum vitae, and filled out the applications. There was nine students fom 3 Senior Highschool that joined, it was me, afifah, irma, zia, fia, hana, rheza, farhan ,and ari. On 13th of March, after all of the preparations, we wnt from Bandung to Jakarta because the filght will be from Soekarno-Hatta airport. We took of from Jakarta to Thailand in the morning, so we arrived at Thailand in the afternoon.  When we arrived in Thailand, we got a big welcome from the staff of the camp that picked up us there. They was very nice. They gave us souvenir as a welcomed and we took a photo.
After they picked up us from the airport, they took us to the university. On the way there we enjoyed the view of the road in Thailand. It is pretty same with Jakarta. the weather wa very hot. In the car, the committee ask our name and they intoduce  themselves. In thailand, we call the senior with “P”. and they have nicknames. They have nicknames because thir name was hard and long.
After an hour, we arrived at the university. It was big. As soon as we arrived, they accompanied us to the dorm. We arrived one day before the camp start, so we dont have any activities that day. At night, we had a dinner with the admission of the university. The participant from outside of Thailand is Indonesia and Myanmar. We acquinted each other. The dinner is to welcomed us there.

The next day, we we woke up in the morning because last night the staff said that there will be an opening ceremony. The Thailand students had just came on this day. In the opening ceremony, there was the Ministry of Education Of Thailand present. After the opening ceremony, we had a fun activities. We played games and they will gave us a choreography, i dont know what that for, but at night i figured it out. Actually if the camp started, there will be like ceremony like dancing. it was fun.

The camp is called 2B-KMUTT camp. At there i got a Thailand's name. It was angun. It means grape. I dont know why they gave me that name, but i kinda loved it hehe.

When I was there, because it was a science camp, They told us to make a project. I was in Department of Microbiology. My researched is about protein. I got many knowledge there from the professor and seniors. It was kind of pre-university. I learned about how to be a college students. It was hard but i got a new and interesting experience.

In this camp, after we learned and experimented anything about our project, there will be a final presentation, The best student in each department will have a gift. I was really nervous back then, but i think i did pretty well.

At the last moment, we had a farewell party. We danced again. I think Thai's people love to dance. At the las night, we had a farewell by dancing and singing. At midnight, the staff circle around with candles and we will came to them to get a bracelet and they will told us what they think about us. It was really sad. I was crying. I got many bracelet. After that we they like read an oath for us and from that we officially became a part of the 2b-KMUTT camp.

On our last day, we had a formal closing ceremony with the Ministry of Education Thailand. They announce the best presentation too. I did not receive it, but Ari it did. We were all happy for him.

We went to the airport after said all the teary goodbye, with 3 of the staff and the admissions. We got back to Indonesia at night.

It was a really great experience that I will never forget for sure. I had a lot of new friends from outside the country, more knowledge, and a very very incredible memories. I hped i can go back there to see all of my friends there from Thailand and Myanmar, and of course all of the staff that always accompanied us everywhere. I was very happy to met them all.

At the first day, we went to the Tanjung Benoa to do water sport. There was parasailing, Flying fish, banana boat, and many more. After the water sport, we went to the pandawa beach. It was particurally beautiful. We had some funs game there. At night, we had dinner at Jimbaran It is a seafood place.

At the second day we went to desa Panglipuran. It is a village that still lived like a traditional Bali's person. The house is traditional too. After looked around the village and did some games we went to Sukowati for shopping. At night we had Malam Keakraban. it is an event for 32016 to get closer to each other.

At the last day in Bali we went to kuta beach and walked around there.  I went to the Beach Walk and enjoyed the scenery and also shopped there. After that, we went to krisna for shopping and souvenirs. Our last destination there was Tanah Lot beach.

On our way back, we stoped in Surabaya for lunch.

Opening Ceremony of Dewa Athena

Dewa Athena is an event that was made by sie 7 OSIS SMAN 3 Bandung. it was a sport events. This event is an annual event that always held every years in my school. from 1st grade to 3rd grade are are all participating in this event. This year, in the opening ceremony we did a mini color run.it was fun and enjoying.
The Color Run was founded in March 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. We are the original paint race and have created a completely new genre of running events that continues to grow exponentially.
The opening of Dewa Athena is the same day with The Opening of Belitung Muda Cup. We started this sport competition with the match between The Winner of Liga Belitung Muda 2014 with Belitung Muda All Stars. After that match, Dewa Athena VI started.

We started the run from Lapangan Bali with Agie as the leader. He brought the torch as the symbol of opening Dewa Athena VI. After finishing the run, we back to Lapangan Bali. And when the participant entered Lapangan Bali, Color Run Crew started to spray the participant with color. It wasn't like the picture color run above, but at least there was any changes we made so the opening ceremony was so exciting.

Heal The World

Heal The World by Micahel Jackson
There's A Place In
Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could
Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
And If You Really Try
You'll Find There's No Need
To cry
In This Place You'll Feel
There's No Hurt Or Sorrow

There Are Ways
To Get There
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

If You Want To Know Why
There's A Love That
Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong
It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving
If We Try
We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel
Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And
Start Living

Then It Feels That Always
Love's Enough For
Us Growing
So Make A Better World
Make A Better World...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

And The Dream We Were
Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify it's Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God's Glow

We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart
I Feel You Are All
My Brothers
Create A World With
No Fear
Together We'll Cry
Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn
Their Swords
Into Plowshares

We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
To Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me
You And For Me

Meaning:
This song to me tells that YOU can change or "heal the world" from what it has become and "make it a better place"caring for homeless people and helping the poor feeding the hungry. its about world peace.if we care about the people who are living in poverty and do something to help them the world would be a much better place. beacuse we still have many generations that will live in this world, we have to make the world peace and beauty. With a start with yourself then it will get bigger and help other people. Keep love with eachother and take care of the world. we can see it today that there is many wars and people that destroy the peace within the world and it makes the environment got destroyed. in this song we can see that Michael Jackson urge us tomake a little change for a big changes.
